On Saturday, January 12th, 2019, S.I.O. held an exciting event, the Complex Task of Reading Scientific Papers, to inspire the next general scientists. The special guest Johanna Adams (Joey), graduate student from Brandeis University Griffith Lab, led a workshop for high school students to explore the topics about Biology and science communication. A wide range of students from many different high schools around the Greater Boston area attended the workshop to discover the secret behind how to efficiently interpret a scientific journal. Attendees were involve with group discussions as Joey presented the art of science communication that lay the foundation for these STEM students to advance their experiences in future laboratory research.Â
